Accessible books are the different versions and ways that an author can distribute them. e.g., hard copies, paperbacks, eBooks, CD’s and audiobooks. Looking back now, many of these options weren’t around years ago, but we are so lucky, that in the 21st century we can get different formats of books.
So, what are they? 💁🏼♀️
- Hard copies: These types of books are what I consider the ‘old version’ of books. Books with hardcovers on them. They often have a hard cover and have thin paper over the book as a protected layer.
- Paperbacks: Is when the books have a thin book cover on them, rather than a hard cover. These are types of books that you often see this in library’s and in bookstores.
- eBooks: Looking in today’s world, almost everyone out their read’s eBooks rather than hard copies. eBooks (as many of you know) are online books. Author’s often sell their books as an eBook on online stores like, Apple Books and Amazon.
- Audiobooks: There many authors out there that pay an author or record their own book to make it an audiobook. This is accessible for those that are blind and those people that can’t read. Not all books out there have an audio version, as recording the book is expensive regardless if, the author is speaking it or they pay someone to speak it.
- CD’s: I have only seen this a couple times on Amazon and in my local library, but this is the ‘old version’ of audiobooks.
What version do I use?
Personally, I love to listen to audio books. This is even how I edit my blogs prior to publishing it the following week. With listening to words, they stick with me, rather than reading them.
